Description from the seller

A beautiful fossil find of vertebrae of Plesiosaurus Dolichodeirus artfully mounted on a custom-made decorative base, allowing it to be displayed attractively in a study, lounge, or Wunderkammer.
The name of this enormous reptile comes from the Greek 'plesios' and 'sauros,' meaning 'near a lizard.'
The Plesiosaurus Dolichodeirus is the most well-known representative of that group of marine reptiles known as plesiosaurs.
Its fossil remains date back to the Lower Jurassic, and through their study, it was determined that it had a short tail and four highly developed fins, while its average length was between 3 and 5 meters.

Fossil size: 280 x 170 x 140 mm
Weight: 4435 g
Epoch: Early Jurassic, 190-180 Ma
Origin: Morocco

Seller's Story

The Mineral Art Gallery offers minerals, fossils, shells and natural elements. Born in Italy in 2017, today she collaborates with international galleries and collectors, she is a direct importer of large minerals and naturalistic collectible elements; deals with the processing to insert them inside the living space. A section of the gallery was dedicated to the Wunderkammer, "chamber of wonders or cabinet of curiosities" in which Mirabilia elements are presented: naturalia and italiania, a union between "the present is the past". All lots are shipped via DHL Express and Fercam couriers, with insured parcel and tracking.
