Historic Note
... I was there that day and I remember that race as if it were this morning — raining cats and dogs — I was in the Gaasometre with my brother. Beltoise (BRM) took a different trajectory beneath the trees and, in just 300 meters, gained three tenths of a second on Jacky Ickx (Ferrari) (that day not the 'rain master') and won the race. Dave Walker with the 72D JPS had the 14th fastest time and was 14th at the checkered flag... it was a long GP... Beltoise finished in 2 hours 26 minutes... in the end, we 'Ferraristi' were very disappointed and soaked to the bone...
