Antique Louis XV–style bombe commode from Italy, circa 1900–1910, crafted in walnut with brass and mahogany detailing, featuring a serpentine front and sides, cabriole legs, and ornate gilt-bronze mounts, dimensions 122 cm W x 52 cm D x 86 cm H, in good condition with minor signs of aging and patina.
Description from the seller
An elegant Louis XV–style bombe commode/chest of drawers, 1900s.
It is finely crafted in richly figured hardwood with elaborate floral marquetry inlay throughout.
The serpentine front and sides are beautifully contoured, resting on graceful cabriole legs that terminate in sabots.
The shaped top features intricate inlaid decoration, complementing the detailed marquetry panels on the drawers and sides. The commode is fitted with ornate gilt-bronze mounts, including rococo-style drawer pulls, escutcheons, and corner mounts, enhancing its refined French aesthetic.
Likely dating to the late 19th, this piece reflects high-quality craftsmanship inspired by 18th-century French design.
Very good overall condition consistent with age and use; minor surface wear with splendid patina.
Presented of moth holes, mainly on back (seen on photos), preferred to be treated for better use.
