Lima H0 - 149710 - Train set (1) - 4-piece TGV 'La Poste' set - La Poste

Front axle in powered motor car.

Originally, two and a half TGV train sets were built for La Poste to handle mail transportation after the opening of the LGV Sud-Est. This number was later supplemented with an additional train set following the conversion of a TGV Sud-Est train set into a mail train. There was consideration to convert another Sud-Est train set into a mail train, but due to the decline in mail traffic, this was deemed unnecessary. After 2014, La Poste began to handle mail transportation with trucks and swap bodies transported by train. As with most postal services, letter traffic has decreased with the rise of the internet, but parcel shipments have increased. On June 27, 2015, the last run of the Postal-TGV from Cavaillon to Paris was operated, marking the end of its service.
