Arne Jacobsen designed the Cylinda Line fish platter in stainless steel for Stelton in Denmark, model Cylinda Line, circa 1970–1990, in excellent condition, large version 46 cm × 20 cm × 2.5 cm, mid‑century modern.
Description from the seller
Arne Jacobsen’s Cylinda-line series for Stelton, launched in 1967, became an immediate success, winning both Danish and international design awards in the late 1960s. His innovative use of lightly brushed, seamless stainless steel was a sensation and has remained popular ever since. Cylinda-line items are featured in many international design museums, for example being included in the permanent collections at both MOMA in New York and the V&A in London. A true Danish design classic and perfect example of Scandinavian minimalism.
This elegant item is a fine example from the series. Arne Jacobsen's minimalistic fish platter is part of the Cylinda Line hollowware range, and was designed in 1967. This is the large version of the dish, 46 cm x 20 cm x 2.5 cm. The stainless steel dish has a loose grate, so liquids drain easily to the bottom of the dish. The platter can be used to serve fish, either whole or in portions, asparagus, other vegetables, or charcuterie. This piece is in near-mint, essentially new condition, with no significant scratches, dents or cracks.
This fantastic minimalistic piece is aesthetically pleasing and would make a fine addition to any mid-century modernist collection.
I always take great care packing (see reviews) and ship securely with insurance. If you buy more than one item in the same sale, I will combine shipping and reduce the shipping costs appropriately.
