Brionvega - TS 505 Portable radio

Radio Brionvega, model TS 505 A, designed by Marco Zanuso and Richard Sapper, from the 1970s. Dimensions: 22x13x13 cm (working). One of the pieces destined to become an object of cult status, highly sought after by collectors everywhere, better known as the Cubo radio. It was designed in 1964 by Marco Zanuso and Richard Sapper for Brionvega. The first is from Milan, the second of German origins; they began collaborating in 1959. The Cubo radio, like its predecessors, is a revolutionary object, colorful and no longer gray, with an innovative shape: a parallelepiped with rounded corners, composed of two shells that open and close like a book. When open, the radio performs its primary function, revealing the internal mechanical parts. When closed, it becomes a sculptural object with a continuous and smooth appearance, accentuated by the use of materials such as plastic and Zamak metal alloy.
