Description from the seller
Iconic modular DS-600 sofa, designed in 1972 by Ueli Berger, Eleonore Peduzzi Riva, Heinz Ulrich, and Klaus Vogt for de Sede.
This exceptional piece consists of a total of 30 elements — 24 central elements and 6 raised side elements/armrests/endings — covered with high-quality, dark mocha brown leather, Switzerland, 1980s.
We also love the configuration as a single armchair, consisting of two central elements and two side elements – a variant that is rarely, if ever, offered, yet it is both visually highly sophisticated and exceptionally comfortable.
The high number of side elements thus offers the owner an exceptional level of flexibility and a wide range of possible configurations.
The DS-600 is renowned for its sculptural flexibility, allowing countless arrangements from serpentine lines to dramatic circular shapes. Handmade in Switzerland, it represents the pinnacle of leather craftsmanship by de Sede and remains one of the most celebrated seating furniture designs of the 20th century.
A rare configuration in extraordinary size and a true statement piece for spacious interiors.
In the photos taken in the white room, the leather appears black, but in reality, it is dark brown. The third-last photo clearly shows how the rear elements appear black, even though they are the same color.
The leather color is called 'cigarro' on the de Sede website.
In excellent original condition.
