Description from the seller

Knife - wrought iron - chamba - Nigeria

Primitive currencies in Nigeria: The African continent is particularly rich in so-called 'primitive' currencies.
Many are made of black iron, a highly sought-after metal; others are made of copper, more precious than gold, brought by the Portuguese to pay for slaves; and others are made of glass beads, human or animal teeth...
The list would be long, but each currency is an artistic treasure.

All the currencies presented were used to complete transactions between individuals or tribes.
They could also be used for individual purposes, such as buying livestock, consumer goods, or serving as a dowry for a wedding.
These currencies were sometimes worn as ornaments, and were passed down through the lineage.
Our guarantees:

- Sending of the package after receipt of payment (except weekends)
Communication of a package tracking number
Carefully packed
