Description from the seller
Elegant antique wall mirror executed in Louis XV / Rococo style, manufactured in France around the end of the 19th to the beginning of the 20th century. This type of mirror was traditionally used in French salons and reception rooms and is characterized by its graceful design and rich ornamentation.
The frame consists of a wooden base, finished with gilded decorative ornaments in composition (gesso), a technique that is typical and historically accurate for mirrors from this period. The decoration features classical rocaille, shell, and leaf shapes. The existing patina, light craquelure in the gilding, and minimal edge damage are consistent with the age and emphasize the authenticity of the object.
The mirror is fitted with original mirror glass, with very light dull patches that match the age and character of an antique piece. The glass remains clear and usable, without any distracting damage.
The back side is finished with a wooden backplate and a traditional wire suspension, indicating a classic construction.
