Description from the seller
ROS 007 - Linden Comansa Flat Top 21 LC
Dimensions: L95cm x H62cm
The model is screwed onto a black plastic base plate to provide extra stability, which works very well. The cross-shaped construction at the base is made entirely of metal and includes an access ladder to reach the mast. The ballast blocks are concrete-colored and consist of solid pieces with groove details, making them look like separate plates.
A detailed capacity board completes the details at the base. The mast is delivered as a single piece representing eight separate mast sections and includes plastic ladders that fit each section, with intermediate platforms. At the top of the mast, there is a turntable and a modeled slewing motor. There is no ladder leading to the cabin platform, which is unfortunate, and the platform itself lacks a mesh walkway like the one present elsewhere on the model. The cabin is small and has a seat.
The counterweight arm consists of two parts: a fully triangular section and a machined part with a counterweight support. Although they are made of separate parts, they are not designed to be disassembled. An excellent feature of the counterweight arm is the grating floor. Two sizes are used, with the finer size being the most realistic for the scale. The railing is good, but perhaps inevitably not fine enough for the scale of the model. An electrical cabinet and a winch motor complete the detail. The counterweight block is a single solid piece, with grooves in the casting to give the appearance of separate concrete slabs.
The main boom consists of six separate, fully triangular sections, but these are also not designed to be separated. The way the sections are attached to each other results in a small protruding piece at each connection, but this is not very noticeable. Overall, the geometry of the test model was very good, with a very straight and precise boom, which is a significant achievement. A trolley motor is attached to the first boom section, and the various pulleys on the superstructure are made of brass. Fine mesh walkways extend along the length of the boom. A set of spotlights is included in a bag with the model, and these can be attached to the boom to provide lighting, as is customary in some countries.
The trolley is made of metal, and a second dummy trolley is located next to the cabin. The hook block is good and contains two small brass pulleys and a separate hook. Strangely, white rope was chosen for the model. Black rope and thinner rope would look much better, and some collectors might be tempted to replace the rope on the model.
A metallic concrete container is included that provides extra weight to keep the lifting cable tight. It might be a bit too heavy and too large for the model.
