Ancient Roman glass unguentarium (perfume bottle) in the scarce and appealing aquamarine colour with a softly translucent appearance. The vessel has a slender, elongated form with a narrow tubular neck and a gently everted rim. The body expands towards the lower section into a rounded, pear-shaped base.
Vessels of this type were used to hold perfumes, oils, or cosmetic liquids, their slender necks designed to control the flow of valuable contents.
Height: ± 115,4 mm
Condition: intact and good solid condition with a beautiful silvery patina. Some sand encrustations on the inside. The surface displays soft iridescence, weathering and small imperfections, consistent with age and use.
Certificate of Authenticity (PDF) is available upon request.
