Description from the seller

Beautiful hand-carved traditional string instrument, probably a Sarangi from Nepal.
This type of folk instrument is used in folk music and ceremonies, and is completely handcrafted from a single piece of wood.

The instrument has a semi-circular sound box covered with an animal skin membrane, on which three strings are attached.
The neck, soundbox, and head are richly decorated with carved patterns, including a clearly recognizable Ganesha engraving — a sacred Hindu figure representing prosperity, protection, and wisdom.

This Sarangi is both a cultural object and a decorative artwork, loved by collectors of ethnographic art and traditional musical instruments.
