Ideal Bierpenning Kassa, an old beer token cash register from Germany dating to roughly 1930–1940, in Art Deco style and silver colour, made of aluminium and steel, measuring 43 x 12 x 19 cm and weighing about 1 kg, in good used condition with minor signs of aging and stains, tested and working, supplied with two keys and an original beer token.
Description from the seller
The old IDEAL beer token cash register is a true collector's item.
The cash register is in good condition, as can be seen in the photos.
With two keys and an original beer token.
Historical background: beer token cash registers were widespread, especially in restaurants, before cash registers and electronic invoicing systems were introduced.
Function:
The cash register was used for recording beer sales. Waiters received beer tokens at the start of their shift and exchanged them, after an order, for a glass of beer from the bartender. Thanks to the viewing window, the bartender could pass on orders. The lever rotated the tap in one compartment once the waitress had accepted the beer. This allowed each waitress to be assigned the sold beer at checkout.
Dimensions 43 x 12 x 19 cm
