Camera History:
"From August 1967 to December 1970, the state company VEB Pentacon in Dresden (GDR), continues to produce the ExaktaVX 1000.
From June 1969 to December 1970, some Exakta VX 1000, for export to the West, have a front plate without the name EXAKTA. This plate bears only the VX 1000 designation embossed on black background. No engraving VX 1000 does appear on the right side of the chromium plated front plate (near the trigger). At the same time, other Exakta VX 1000 are showing a black plate where the name ELBAFLEX is embossed.
Most of the Ihagee engineers have moved to the west side, where some have tried to resume production by creating and marketing the Exakta Real (900 units produced). Numerous brand property trials filed against VEB Pentacon prohibit the designation EXAKTA for cameras intended to be sold in western Europe countries. The company VEB Pentacon then uses the name ELBAFLEX to signify that they are made at the edge of the Elbe river that flows through the city of Dresden. The top cover is engraved aus DRESDEN. There are two versions of Elbaflex, the first with the rewind indicator silver and red, the second is black and white. The Elbaflex being identical to the Exakta VX1000, it has all the same features and uses the same accessories and lenses."
Dimensions 155×105×50 mm
