20 Lobbycards: Roger Moore - Im Angesicht des Todes (A View To A Kill) as 3x posters (84x60cm) to be used as lobby cards in cinemas | unused in NM (mint-) Posters are intact / glossy paper
Movie lobby cards are a uniquely American creation. They are a hybrid of movie posters and, usually, movie star photos. Back in the early 1910’s, the small nickelodeons, where films were first shown, started morphing into larger, more permanent, and more elegant venues. As a result of this growth, more advertising was needed to promote the movies these new movie palaces were offering. So, in addition to the beautiful, colorful lithographic movie posters, there came a need for photographic images.
Roger Moore's final Bond film sees him once again battling a madman (this time played by Christopher Walken) for control of the world. The fiendish plan on this occasion is to flood California's lucrative 'Silicon Valley' by imploding the San Andreas fault. Grace Jones plays May Day, the obligatory evil sidekick, while former 'Charlie's Angels' star Tanya Roberts had a brush with big screen fame as the Bond Girl, Stacey Sutton. Duran Duran perform the theme song.
Seller's Story
My name is Hans Kesteloo and I finally decided to sell my ‘remaining’ collection of 45’s, LP’s, CD’s, DVD’s, laserdiscs and other odd things after more than 60 years of ‘hardcore’ collecting. I purchased my first 45 in 1965, and this was the beginning of an enjoyable, long-time hobby – a real-time “collector’s career”. Now time has come to pass the baton !
