Description from the seller
MAYNADIER
A wonderful pair of French art deco wall sconces by Pierre Maynadier made around 1925-1930. The nickel-plated bronze or solid brass mounts hold shades in clear frosted molded-pressed glass.
Maynadier had a manufactory producing art deco lighting during the interbellum in Paris (25 rue Saint-Sébastien). Nowadays most known for his beautifully designed bronze fixtures Pierre Maynadier made lights with wrought iron mounts as well. In the late 30s they started to produce lighting in pressed brass in a modernist style. After the war the son of Pierre took over and the grandson after him. The firm finally closed its doors in 1966.
Both shades are signed P. Maynadier. The signature on this model shade is very small and always almost invisible. Maynadier was not a glass factory. He mainly used Muller and Schneider shades for his lamps. The Maynadier signed shades are models that were produced on special order by Muller frères.
The wall lights are 21,7 cm high 17 cm deep and 11,2 cm wide. The pair is in very good condition. I re-plated and patinated the beautiful mounts. And the fixtures are rewired with American candelabra base sockets. For European countries I will place E14 ones.
On catawiki my listings have low reserve prices. I offer no aftersales when the reserve is not met.
Safe packaging guaranteed : As specialized restorer of French art Deco lighting for over 20 years I ship my parcels worldwide with the fragile items well protected and fully insured. No shipping to the USA.
Having custom made wiring I can accept no returns.
