Description from the seller
Rare Pair of Architectural Construction Set 'No. 4' – Germany, circa 1800/1900 – With Original Lithographs and Manual. Up for auction is a fascinating piece of toy history: a coordinated pair of boxes for architectural constructions (model No. 4), dating from the late 19th or early 20th century. These sets represent the excellence of German educational and recreational production from the Belle Époque period.
Unique Lotto Details
Special Decorative Pieces: The boxes contain rare wooden blocks with detailed lithographic prints that faithfully reproduce Gothic windows, decorated portals, and architectural pediments.
Double Opportunity: The presence of two identical boxes (both marked with the number '4') is an added value for collectors, as it allows for the construction of monumental and symmetrical structures by doubling the decorative pieces.
Authentic Materials: Original solid wood boxes with sliding lids, adorned with beautiful vintage lithographs depicting children engaged in constructive play.
The lot includes the valuable original instruction sheet (construction plan), which shows diagrams for assembling temples and classical arches.
Conditions
They are presented in good vintage condition, considering their over 100 years of age. The lithographs on the covers retain vivid colors and a beautiful historical patina. The paper manual is fragile and shows the classic signs of aging, which confirm its authenticity.
