Description from the seller
Palestine. British Mandate. 1 million. 1943.
Value: 1 million.
Year: 1943.
Inscriptions: On one side, 'PALESTINE' in English, Arabic, and Hebrew, with the date in Western and Hebrew numerals; on the other side, 'ONE MIL' in English and Arabic, with the value 1 and a stylized olive branch in the center.
Grade: MS63 BN (NGC).
Bronze coin issued during the British Mandate of Palestine, a period characterized by a complex administrative and cultural coexistence clearly reflected in the currency. The trilingual use of legends — English, Arabic, and Hebrew — makes this issue a highly significant historical document. The reverse features the olive branch, a universal symbol of peace deeply rooted in the region, executed with a simple yet highly recognizable design. The specimen retains a uniform brown patina, with well-defined reliefs and minimal wear for the grade, consistent with MS63 BN, offering a solid presence and a notable historical significance within 20th-century Near Eastern numismatics.
Disclaimer: For orders shipped outside the European Union, I want to make it absolutely clear that I ship from Spain. This means that if the package is sent to any country outside the European Union, and/or inside the EU that has a special tax agreement (for example: Canary Islands), it might be stopped in your local customs, and they might ask you to pay taxes. This is a customs legal procedure and is completely out of our control. Thank you for your understanding.
