Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Hans Peter Feldmann, author and illustrator, presents the artist edition "11 Bilder" in German, a 12-page softcover with dimensions 62 × 142 mm, published in 1971 as a first, limited edition of 80 copies, in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
A stapled booklet featuring eleven images of clouds in the sky, with a brown cover stamped with the title “11 Bilder” and the artist’s name.
Artist's edition, 1971.
Limited edition of 80 copies.
Perfect condition.
Provenance: Galerie Durand Dessert, Paris.
Rare and sought after
The small artists' books simply titled 'Bild' or 'Bilder' that H. P. Feldmann produced between 1968 and 1976 are the most important artists' books of the 20th century, alongside those of Ed Ruscha and Christian Boltanski.
Great simplicity and an absence of artifice in these publications.
These are invariably of modest size, most often equipped with a brown cover that evokes school exercise booklets.
They contain a variable number of photographs on a particular theme.
Bibliography
-H. P Feldmann: The Museum in the Head, Walther König 1989.
-Martin Parr: the photography book, volume 2, page 158.
-Hans Peter Feldmann: Books, Publications, Notebooks 1960-2021.
Walther König Edition 2023 reproduces pages 28 and 29.
