Notarial dossier from 1833 in the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies documenting the transfer of patrimonial rights of the Santa Chiara monastery in Naples to the Bourbon State after the suppression of religious orders, 12 pages, signed, in Italian.
Description from the seller
Important notarized file from 1833, drafted in the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, which directly and concretely documents the transfer of property rights of the Santa Chiara monastery in Naples to the Bourbon State, following the suppression of religious orders.
The monastery, while continuing to exist as a monumental complex, loses its institutional function: the assets and enfiteutic rents are transferred to a state entity of an assistance and military nature, the Royal Military Orphanage, which takes over as the new direct owner.
The act involves high officials of the Bourbon military administration, who act in the name and on behalf of the public entity, legally binding even future successors.
The fund holders of the Municipality of Qualiano are listed, called upon to formally recognize the new arrangement after a previous non-compliance, with an explicit reference to the risk of asset devolution.
For each fund, the names and annual fees are indicated, expressed in grana, to be paid perpetually every August 15th in actual currency.
An authentic, detailed, and highly valuable document that sheds light on one of the key moments of 19th-century Southern history.
The transformation of religious heritage into state heritage and the birth of a modern public administration, at the heart of Neapolitan history.
