Unique antique piece in very good state, only three existing pieces known.

Karel Petrus Cornelis de Bazel (1869 -1923) was a Dutch architect, engraver, draughtsman, furniture designer, carpet designer, glass artist and book cover designer.

Description
The leather-covered armrests are supported by elongated front legs, which are slenderly turned and connected just above the ground by connecting rods. A striking detail is the diagonally placed round post between the center of the back and the rear connecting rod, which provides strength to the delicate-looking structure.

Unlike the furniture designed by architect Cuypers, for example, De Bazel's design has a remarkably refined, almost fragile appearance for the period in which it was created.

The relatively smooth, ornament-free chair legs have a remarkably understated character.
De Bazel enjoyed pushing the material to its utmost capacity.
