Description from the seller
Fiat 500C 'Topolino' Convertible from 1951 - An Italian Icon
The latest and most reliable evolution of the 'Topolino,' the icon that powered Italy, in splendid condition and with a unique ownership history.
This is not just a simple 500, but the 'C' series, the most refined and sought-after, equipped with crucial innovations such as the aluminum cylinder head, recessed headlights, and the internal spare wheel. It combines charm, friendliness, and history.
Curated by a D.o.c. collector
The specimen was purchased in 2022 by a well-known pilot, classic car collector, and record holder who optimized its mechanical functioning and used it occasionally for rallies and Sunday outings.
Complete Restoration
The previous owner (from 2013 to 2022) subjected it to a complete restoration: the vehicle was disassembled, repaired, and fully repainted. The interiors and the soft top cover were renewed.
Original License Plate
Show off the coveted original badge from 1951.
body shop
The body is presented in a rare and fascinating dark forest green, very elegant, paired with interiors featuring front seats in black vinyl.
The paint is in excellent condition, uniform, and shows no areas with streaks or bumps (see images).
The underbody and sheet metal are in excellent condition, as evidenced by the photo book. No rust is present, and on some minor scratches, the rust is only superficial; the car has always been kept indoors in a dry garage.
Interiors
The interiors are in good condition, with restored seats covered in black vinyl that are free of tears.
The dashboard instrumentation and the related switches are functioning correctly.
MECHANICS
The mechanics are complete and efficient. The suspensions, brakes, and all the ignition/fuel system have been restored over time and are perfectly functional. In September, the car underwent a general check-up, and the tightening of bolts was verified.
The latest evolution engine with a 569cc displacement always starts on the first attempt and operates perfectly. The aluminum cylinder head and the valve, pushrod, and rocker arm control system installed only on versions B and C increase the power of the four-cylinder engine from 13 to 16.5 horsepower.
The Topolino mounts a new battery. To preserve it during periods of inactivity, a convenient manual battery disconnect switch has been installed.
The 500C Convertible is the perfect vehicle to enter the world of classic cars with a reasonable investment and minimal running costs. It is always admired at every event, and it is eligible for the Mille Miglia and other prestigious commemorations.
The vehicle is located in Turin and is being sold directly by the heirs without any intermediary.

Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
