Description from the seller

France – Napoleon I Bonaparte (1804–1814) – Uniface cast portrait cameo in gilt bronze – circa 19th century

Fascinating uniface cast cliché depicting Napoleon Bonaparte in military uniform, facing right.
An artist’s workshop proof or decorative study piece, inspired by the official medals of the Napoleonic era by Andrieu and other mint engravers.
Hand-finished with visible tool and casting marks, showing the character of a studio prototype rather than a mass-produced medal.

Obverse: Uniformed bust of Napoleon facing right, with epaulettes and high collar.
Reverse: hollow and unfinished (uniface), traces of casting and oxidation.
Metal: Gilt bronze (brass alloy)
Diameter: approximately 70 mm
Weight: about 80–100 g
Condition: Good; signs of age, light wear and oxidation consistent with casting and handling.
Provenance: Private collection, Italy.

A historically intriguing uniface medallic portrait — likely a 19th-century artist’s proof or workshop reproduction inspired by Napoleonic originals.
