Description from the seller

Solid Silver Oval Box – Netherlands 835/1000 – De Leeuw Den Bouter (LdB3), ca. 1946–1971 – Embossed Scene & Scrollwork – 42 g

A beautifully crafted solid silver oval box, richly decorated in high relief with an elaborate historical scene on the lid, framed by scrolling acanthus motifs in late-Rococo / early-Historicist style.
Made in the Netherlands and fully hallmarked for 835 silver (2nd standard) with the maker’s mark LdB3, attributed to De Leeuw Den Bouter, active 1946–1971.

The workmanship is particularly fine: deep repoussé figures, crisp ornamental borders and a smooth, polished body. The hinged lid opens smoothly and closes securely.

Although small, this is a quality silver object suitable as:
A pill box
A snuff box / tobacco box (miniature)
A keepsake or jewellery box for rings or small charms
A decorative collector’s piece
A gift box for a symbolic personal item
Its compact size makes it ideal for a desk, handbag, display cabinet or silver collection.
