Nur sehr wenige Edelsteine haben so viel Wissen und Romantik angesammelt wie der Einzigartige Mondstein. Dieser außergewöhnliche Edelstein mit dem charakteristischen milchigen Schimmer ist seit Jahrtausenden bekannt und wird von vielen Kulturen verehrt.
Der hinduistischen Legende zufolge Mondstein wurde aus Mondstrahlen geformt. Früher glaubte man, dass man seine Zukunft sehen würde, wenn man bei Vollmond einen im Mund hielte. In Indien gilt Mondstein immer noch als heiliger Stein und soll Glück bringen.
Die alten Römer brachten Mondstein auch mit dem Mond in Verbindung und spekulierten, dass der Edelstein aus Mondlichttropfen geformt wurde. Sie dachten darüber nach Edelsteine als Besitz jener Eigenschaften, die traditionell mit dem Mond in Verbindung gebracht werden: Romantik, Weiblichkeit, Intuition, Träume und Emotionen.
