This is a 1946 British 6pence silver coin, graded MS 64 (Uncirculated, Grade 64) by NGC. It is a classic circulating coin from the reign of King George VI.

Obverse (Portrait): Profile portrait of King George VI of Great Britain, surrounded by the Latin inscription "GEORGIVS VI D:G:BR:OMN:REX", meaning "GeorgiVS VI, King by the grace of God, King of Great Britain and of all its territories".
Reverse: The center features intertwined “GR” letters (representing “Georgius Rex,” meaning King George), above which is a crown. The year “1946” is inscribed on both sides, and the denomination “SIXPENCE” is at the bottom, surrounded by the inscription “FID:DEF:IND:IMP” (meaning “Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India”).
