Antique box in green galuchat and gilded bronze – 19th century – Napoleonic era
Description
Elegant box in the shape of a chest covered with genuine galuchat in olive green, mounted with a rich gilded bronze frame finely decorated with scrolls, rosettes, and rocaille motifs.
The domed lid, rounded corners, and highly ornate frame are characteristic of luxury objects from the Second Empire, a period during which galuchat was particularly prized for boxes and cabinet fittings.
The interior is lined with original green textile, providing a beautiful chromatic unity to the whole.
