Description from the seller
Carla van de Puttelaar - Brushed by Light - 2020 - Hardcover - 33x24cm - 175 pages - corners are slightly damaged (see photos); the interior is in good condition.
For over 20 years, internationally acclaimed artist Carla van de Puttelaar has created an extensive photographic oeuvre primarily consisting of female nudes, portraits, and flowers. She has developed a very personal style and works exclusively with natural daylight. She focuses mainly on the skin and cherishes all details, such as moles, goosebumps, and clothing impressions. She has worked on various series inspired by paintings by old masters, such as the Cranach and Rembrandt series. In 2017, she launched the highly praised portrait series Artfully Dressed: Women in the Art World.
The 78 works featured in her upcoming retrospective exhibition, Brushed by Light, at the National Museum of History and Art in Luxembourg, provide an overview of the artist's career from the mid-1990s to the present.
The exhibition highlights all aspects of her work, but the focus is on photography. Additionally, five videos with sound are displayed. Moreover, the artist has created a series of photos especially for the exhibition, inspired by the museum's collection of old masters, such as the beautiful Pietà by the Flemish painter Theodoor van Loon.
Shipping: Will be properly packed and shipped with track & trace via PostNL.
