This is the relief signature of Gerhard Bochmann, sculptor and modeler at Goebel.
The signature is incorporated into the design and confirms an original Goebel model from the Mothers Series.
It is not a painter's signature but a designer's mark.
The plaque is made of porcelain with very refined modeling. The fur texture, expression, and depth of the relief demonstrate Goebel's high level of craftsmanship in the 1970s. Mother-and-child representations are among the most beloved themes within this series.
