Description from the seller

Historical tapestry scene – harbor view with sailing ships and figures

French wall tapestry in the Rococo style – Aubusson / Flanders. This piece is made in the style of classic French models (Aubusson or Beauvais style). It is a beautiful piece!

Decorative wall tapestry depicting a detailed scene of a historical port and trade scene. In the foreground, people dressed in baroque or neoclassical clothing are seen loading goods and socializing. In the background, magnificent sailing ships lie in the harbor of a southern European city, surrounded by buildings, arches, and ruins motifs.

The carpet is bordered by an ornamental frame.
The scene is stylistically reminiscent of Venetian or Mediterranean harbor views of the 18th century and was produced in the 20th century as a decorative Jacquard wall fabric.

Beautiful decorative wall tapestry in the French Rococo style, inspired by the famous designs of the 18th century.

The tapestry motif in the French style. It belongs to the tradition of the so-called 'Aubusson' or 'Beauvais Tapestry Series,' which were very popular in France during the 17th and 18th centuries.

The tapestry was produced in the mid-20th century (around 1950–1970) on a Jacquard loom, in the French region of Aubusson or Flanders. Such reproductions were made with high craftsmanship quality and served as a homage to the great French models of the manufactories of Beauvais and Aubusson.

The border features a classic floral pattern that enhances an elegant overall impression.

Whether as wall decoration, a collectible, or a classic accent in a historic interior, this wall tapestry embodies the French art of the 18th century in a charming way and brings an atmosphere of elegance and nostalgia to any room.
