Description from the seller
Silver seal matrix, coats of arms, and monogram – 19th century
Silver seal (tested), mounted on a narrow shaft ending with a suspension ring allowing it to be worn as a charm or on a chain. The oval plate is finely engraved with coats of arms: a shield charged with three textured quarters, crossed by a band featuring a symbol (a tool or arm holding an object, difficult to identify with certainty). The shield is decorated with deep baroque lambrequins and topped with a crest (a stylized torso or helm).
The initials M – D frame the composition, most likely those of the original owner.
Typically, a 19th-century heraldic engraver's work: sharp engraving, precise details in the hatching and grain of the quadrants, uniform depth.
Dimensions matrix 2 cm x 1.8 cm
Very good condition. Engraving perfectly readable. Homogeneous patina.
Provenance: Private collection.
Photos are an integral part of the description of the objects and complement their presentation. They allow you to assess their condition and characteristics. Please examine them carefully before any commitment.
The item will be carefully packaged and shipped with a tracking number to ensure fast and secure delivery.
