Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Set of 10 Russian votive silver goblets, 84 zolotniks (875/1000), dating to the 19th century, varying in shape with six on pedestals and four flat, heights around 7 cm, and in good used condition with minor signs of wear.
Description from the seller
Set of 10 small votive cups in silver with a fineness of 84 zolotniks, Russia, 19th century.
A set of ten small cups in solid silver (Russian hallmark '84', or 875/1000), with hand-engraved decorations of geometric, vegetal, or architectural motifs.
These small containers, of various shapes – six on a pedestal and four with flat bottoms – are typical of 19th-century Russian productions, used as votive vases or small domestic chalices in the Orthodox tradition.
They were used to contain the Eucharistic wine during private services, or as offerings placed before icons in family prayer rooms.
For the most part, the visible hallmarks indicate the legal title of 84 zolotniks (875/1000) accompanied by partially legible marks of goldsmiths in Cyrillic.
Refined Russian goldsmith work, carved with a burin, with authentic artisanal charm.
Wear condition, small marks and occasional deformations, homogeneous silver patina.
Heights: from 4 to 8 cm
