Description from the seller
I propose this 'Plume' model casserole from COUSANCES by Le Creuset, an iconic and rarer variation from the 1970s, recognizable by its lightweight lid designed to offer more comfortable handling while maintaining the thermal qualities of enameled cast iron.
Cousances being the high-end line of Le Creuset France.
The term 'Plume' directly refers to this specific cover: although entirely made of enamelled cast iron, it is significantly lighter than traditional models, a technical innovation appreciated at the time for smoother daily use.
The cocotte is presented in its iconic orange color, a historic shade of the brand, immediately associated with the golden age of French culinary design during the Trente Glorieuses and the 1970s.
Condition of preservation
Very good condition, sound and perfectly functional.
Presence of normal signs of use consistent with the age of the piece (see photos), with no structural shock or alteration of the cast iron or enamel.
The cocotte is equipped with its protective cover, an element that must be be removed when using it in the oven.
