Description from the seller

An exquisite large French table lamp from the late 19th century, made in the Louis XVI style and dating to the Napoleon III period.

This is a substantial and heavy bronze lamp, not a later reproduction.

The lamp is beautifully constructed around a putto sculpture placed at the center.
The figure is holding a basket filled with flowers and fruit above his head.
The expression is soft, with very detailed facial features, hair, and anatomy, showing the care and quality put into the sculpture.

The putto is finished in a deep dark bronze with rich green and chocolate brown patina. This contrasts beautifully with the gold-plated elements.
The lamp is richly decorated with roses and leaves in high relief, with crisp gilding that reflects the quality of French workmanship from this period.

The sculpture stands on a gold-plated bronze column decorated with floral garlands and classical ornaments.

The proportions are well balanced, and the lamp has a heavy and elegant structure that gives it a really luxurious look.

The underside is closed with its original wooden insert.

The lamp is fully functional and serves both as a sculptural object and as a stunning table lamp.

Great antique condition. Very light wear to the gilding. No cracks, breaks, or repairs. There is a small silver-colored paint mark on the back of the base near the cable exit (see close-up photo).

The socket and cable are old but functional.

Dimensions
Total height: 69 cm
Base: 15 × 15 cm
Net Weight: 4.5 kg
