Antique bronze figurine lamp with putto on onyx base – circa 1900s
Very beautiful antique table lamp with a bronze putto (cherub), placed on a solid onyx foot, made around the 1900s (early 20th century).
De putto is an elegant, modeled figure and carries the lampshade with an uplifted arm. The design and the floral, openwork frame of the shade are characteristic of the Art Nouveau period, with clear influences from neoclassicism.
The lamp sits on a heavy, round onyx pedestal, resting on an ornately decorated metal base. The shade is made of cut glass with a decorative metal frame. The bronze has a beautiful, warm patina that matches the age of the object.
