Description from the seller
Beautiful Saarinen table by Eero Saarinen for Knoll International from the late 1990s. Aluminum base with white Rilsan coating and Arabescato marble top with polyester protection, 120 cm diameter.
In 1938, Hans Knoll founded the Hans G. Knoll Furniture Company in a small space on East 72nd Street in New York. The company evolved into a manufacturing industry and inaugurated a new headquarters in 1941, a former dance hall in East Greenville, Pennsylvania. Knoll also hired Danish designer Jens Risom, who helped develop the first collection of original Knoll furniture. That same year, Hans met Florence during an interior design project. In 1946, Hans and Florence married and renamed the company Knoll Associates. The same year, the spouses and partners officially established the Planning Unit, and in 1951, Knoll International was created, based in Germany and France, to conquer the European market.
