The wine jug is intact. In the oven, it has shrunk due to poor development in the potter's oven / temperature and sits tilted on the belly. It is also a nice item to use in (painting) still lifes. In the 16th century, Raeren was part of Germany but now falls under Belgium. The jug was purchased through the antique dealer LVA in Maastricht.
