Description from the seller

Statue head, Chamba culture, Nigeria. Height: 20cm.

A beautiful fragment of a terracotta figure from Nigeria. Attributed to the Chamba ethnic group. No precise dating. But at least over a hundred years old, considering the surface, erosion, and technique.
The face is beautiful, lively. The gaze is deep and powerful. It is a work full of life. The style appears quite simple and naive, but it contains great sensitivity. The artist managed to convey emotion through this piece. The mouth is broken. The top of the skull is split but solid. The rest of the body is missing; it is a fragment. The work is solid, with no fragile parts. See photos for more details. The photos are part of the description. Custom-made base. A beautiful old piece, rare and authentic. Circa 1900/1950.

The seller guarantees and can prove that the object was obtained legally. The seller was informed by Catawiki that they had to provide the documentation required by the laws and regulations in their country of residence. The seller guarantees and is entitled to sell/export this object. The seller will provide all provenance information known about the object to the buyer. The seller ensures that any necessary permits are/will be arranged. The seller will inform the buyer immediately about any delays in obtaining such permits.
