Description from the seller

Fetish Bottle
Benin
Culture Fon
H.34cm

Intriguing Vodun Vaudou fetish from Benin. It consists of a bottle, two wooden figures, a bird skull, wood, and other magical elements. The whole has a powerful and hypnotic presence. The bright pigments give it an unreal appearance. Its function is mysterious. Only the Vodou priest who created this object knows its purpose. The patina is old and rich, a mixture of various offerings, pigments, shea butter, alcohol, kaolin... An ancient and authentic Vodou cult object. Circa 1960.
