Description from the seller
Set of 3 Napoleon III crystal and gilded bronze boxes – 19th century – Stamp box, candy jar, and decorative container
⸻
Description
Rare and elegant set of three decorative crystal boxes, mounted in bronze or gilded brass, dating from the second half of the 19th century, during the Napoleonic III / Belle Époque period.
These objects perfectly illustrate the bourgeois taste of the era for small precious containers, blending the transparency of cut crystal with finely chiseled mounts: openwork floral decorations, neoclassical friezes, garlands, and allegorical female figures.
The crystal bases feature a characteristic star-shaped size from the 19th century, reflecting careful craftsmanship. The antique gildings retain a beautiful original patina.
