Description from the seller
Antique rug full of stories - impressive and very well preserved
Professionally cleaned*
about 160,000 knots per m²
- With Certificate
Entry into our warehouse, cleaned at a laundry specializing in hand-knotted rugs, and subsequently no longer used.
This is a hand-knotted Oriental rug, made from sustainable, natural materials. The knotting technique and diversity of patterns make this piece unique and highlight its authentic and artisanal character.
This is an excellent use floor covering with an extremely long lifespan.
A special Afghan, hand-knotted around 1940 somewhere between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan. The knotting style and color use of this remarkable rug are more Afghan, while the patterns and shapes resemble Turkmenistan rugs. An impressive piece, very well preserved and full of stories. A wonderful piece of history, a rare rug that reflects the development of knotting art by showing how these rugs were made over 80 years ago. A story about wandering freely and gaining inspiration from different places — even if it came from another country. Fully open to personal interpretation.
In addition, this cloth also reflects the beauty of craftsmanship: nothing is perfect. Some irregularities in shape and imperfections in patterns contribute to its authentic character and tell stories.
Note: with its long fringes, this dress is 230 cm long.
Main color: Red
Accent colors: cream and brown and blue shades.
Details: Rich abrash (natural color variations); many feathers; beautifully clean and fresh; stunning shine; antique & characterful; special object; exceptionally well preserved.
