Philips D2603 portable multiband transistor radio, manufactured in 1980, in very good physical condition and tested as working, includes its mains power supply and original packaging with box and internal polystyrene.
Description from the seller
Original Philips D2603 portable radio, manufactured in the early 1980s. This model represents a solid example of Philips’ analog-era radio engineering, designed for reliable everyday use with good audio performance and robust construction. The radio is complete with its original cardboard box and original internal polystyrene packaging, a rare and desirable feature for collectors.
The radio has been fully tested and is in correct working order. It operates both on batteries and via AC mains power. FM reception is excellent, with a stable and clear signal. Audio output is strong and well balanced for a portable radio of this size.
All controls are fully functional. Bass and Treble adjustments work correctly and audibly affect the sound. The radio is equipped with a headphone output: when headphones are connected, the internal speakers are automatically muted and audio is correctly routed exclusively to the headphones.
From a technical perspective, the Philips D2603 uses a solid-state superheterodyne circuit, with discrete components typical of early-1980s Philips production. It features a multi-stage RF and IF section for good sensitivity and selectivity, followed by an audio amplification stage delivering approximately 1.8 W of maximum output power through a dual integrated speaker system, providing fuller sound compared to single-speaker portable radios.
