Description from the seller

Magnificent massive neo-Gothic bronze box with biblical and romantic scenes.
20th century, France
Superb rectangular box in solid bronze with nuanced medal patina, richly decorated in bas-relief on all sides with biblical scenes, finely chiseled signet rings, and romances under ogival arches. The side panels depict evocative episodes framed by ornamental motifs typical of medieval Gothic architecture: braids, rose windows, friezes, and twisted columns.
The lid features a similar decoration with a central relief composition, while the edges are highlighted with architectured moldings. The interior is lined with original green velvet, in excellent condition.
Dimensions: 13 x 11 x 6.5 cm
This high-quality historicist piece is directly inspired by the famous Limousin reliquary shrines of the 12th-13th centuries, reinterpreted in the French Neo-Gothic style of the Second Empire. Perfect as a jewelry box, cigar box, or collectible item, it combines decorative elegance with fine craftsmanship.
Condition: Very good.
