Description from the seller

Old bronze frame – Neobaroque style with grotesque figures (c. 1880–1920)

Old frame in solid bronze/brass, a piece with significant aesthetic presence and decorative value. It is a rare example of European neobaroque (late 19th – early 20th century), with strong influence from Renaissance grotesque.

The frame features two side figures in high relief, with intense expressions and open mouths — symbolic elements used as apotropaic protectors, common in the decorative art of the period. The top is richly ornamented, and the border is decorated with classical oval motifs, all executed with detail and depth.

It is an ideal piece for:

collectors of antique art

vintage, baroque, or eclectic decoration

scenography, photography, or luxury interiors

Despite its age, the structure is solid, and the metal retains its original beauty. It can be used as a mirror frame, for photographs, paintings, or as a standalone decorative piece.

Unique piece, with great visual impact and historical value.

I invite you to take a look.

A wonderful addition to any decor and a standout piece.

There is no mirror, the budget to install a mirror is (in Portugal) 18 euros.

It will be carefully packaged and shipped with tracking. The tracking will be updated on your Catawiki purchase page; please check regularly to prevent the package from being returned to me, in which case the buyer will be responsible for the cost of any additional shipping.
