Description from the seller

Matured in vats and distilled using traditional methods, this agricultural rum is aged for 12 years in oak barrels.
Authentic and rare! The sugar cane used to create this Hors d'âge rum was harvested in 1998. Matured in vats and distilled using traditional methods, this agricultural rum has been aged for twelve years in oak barrels. Bottled in early 2011 at its natural alcohol content (43°) and without filtration, only two thousand numbered bottles of this exceptional rum with its deep brown colour and mahogany highlights are produced.
When drunk neat, it is best enjoyed after a meal. Each note stands out: on the nose, vanilla, cinnamon, caramelised and woody notes mingle with spices, prunes and cherries. On the palate, its extraordinary richness, power and roundness reveal flavours of dried fruit, toasted almond, vanilla and spices (nutmeg, cinnamon, liquorice).

At the end of the tasting, it lingers on the palate, leaving a pleasant, subtle, slightly smoky veil.
