Nobuyoshi Araki - My Beloved Yoko - 1978

"My Beloved Yoko (2nd Edition)" is a photo book by Nobuyoshi Araki, one of Japan's leading postwar photographers.

The exhibition "Nobuyoshi Araki: Sentimental Journey 1971-2017" was held at the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum in 2017.

The subject is undoubtedly his late wife, Yoko. This book is a collection of early works featuring Yoko, his muse, who was so influential that she inspired him to become a photographer.

Masahisa Fukase also published a photo book, "Yoko," from his Sonorama series, featuring his first wife, Yoko, and this "My Beloved Yoko" is also a truly magnificent work.

Yoko has said that she was attracted to Araki's skill in capturing pensive expressions, and that he gave her a Modigliani art book before their marriage and a Hans Bellmer art book to commemorate his proposal.
