Carl Zeiss Jena blc Rm-F 12X60 for Em 4m R40
The tilted binocular Rm-F 12X60 60° was used for aiming the Zeiss stereoscopic rangefinder of the R40 four-meter model, which was equipped with three of them. (see the last two black and white photos)
German observation binocular belonging to a 4-meter telescope.
It is in perfect condition, with clear lenses that are free of damage and/or mold.
The focus adjustment and pupil distance adjustment are smooth.
The telescope can be mounted on different tripods.
The sight is delivered without a tripod.
completely disassembled, cleaned, and adjusted.
Everything works perfectly, the color filters, the adjustment for interpupillary distance, the focusing of the eyepieces—all functions very well. In summary, it is in very good condition; you don't often find them like this.
So, it's a Zeiss 12×60 binoculars (45°).
These rangefinders were used by the German army during World War II in anti-aircraft artillery.
They are also used by the navy (it's a marine version).
Individually adjustable for each eye, adjustable for the distance between the eyes. Internal filters present.
It was used under very bright light in the snow or the desert.
The foldable front is a protection against the rain.
This way, you can look in the rain without the lenses getting wet.
The viewfinder has been completely disassembled, and the lenses as well as the interior have been thoroughly cleaned.
It is a telescope that is at least 80 years old.
They are built with a service interval of once every 5 to 10 years depending on usage conditions.
used by Carl Zeiss in Jena.
It became common during the war not to inscribe the full name on the glasses.
They did not want to let the enemy know where and by whom they were made.
Say to avoid bombings on the factories. Type: blc 12 x 60 5*.
Very clear, large, and with incredible sharpness. 12x magnification with a 60 mm lens diameter.
For the strength of the telescope, magnification is not the only criterion considered.
but also the quality of the lenses.
These Carl Zeiss lenses are incredibly clear!
The spectator can be standing on an ordinary adjustable tripod (later).
with which it becomes an impressive ensemble.
And it's also very practical.
Unique piece, of which there are fewer and fewer left on the market worldwide.
