The Carl Barks Signature Edition by Gallery Disneyana+ is a limited edition series consisting of a total 100 specially selected prints matched with an original oversize Carl Barks signature. The aim of this special edition is to carry on Carl Barks’ artistic legacy as a supplement to the officially released lithographic Carl Barks editions. The premise of the CBSE can be described with our answer to the following question: “if Carl Barks was alive today, what printing technique would he have preferred to use for any new limited-edition art releases?”. In our opinion, he would have opted for the giclée technique as this creates and end-result closest to Barks’ original oil. When looking at these Carl Barks fine art giclées, it is difficult to tell them apart from the original oil paintings as their colour richness and depth match that of the original artwork. It is almost like owning an original Carl Barks oil painting! Adding to the uniqueness of this special edition is the fact that the CBSE will not contain images or scenes previously released in another limited edition lithographic format – this editon will thus contain not only some of Barks’ rarer oil painting scenes – but also some of his finest!
