Two-seat brown leather sofa ‘Le Bambole’ designed by Mario Bellini for B&B Italia, produced in the 1970s, with vegetable-tanned leather, measuring 170 cm wide by 90 cm deep and 73 cm high, weight 50 kg, in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
Splendid brown leather sofa with a chestnut head
Two-seater sofa model ‘Le Bambole’ designed by Mario Bellini in 1972 and awarded the Golden Compass in 1979.
A historic icon of timeless Italian design, one of the most significant expressions of Italian design of the 1970s.
The Le Bambole sofa is a timeless icon, with an apparent absence of a supporting structure that gives the sofa a natural and harmonious appearance.
Its soft and elastic shape is capable of offering unparalleled comfort, wrapping the user's body.
The sofa in question is a rare early production from the 70s, reupholstered in a special leather with vegetable tanning that gives it a unique vintage effect. Unlike regular leathers, vegetable-tanned leathers use only natural essences, which give it a more lived-in and natural appearance. In addition to being more refined, this type of leather costs three to four times more than regular leathers.
The internal padding is still perfect.
