The Namji dolls are named after the tribe from which they originate. The Namji people, located in the northwest of Cameroon, use them as ritual objects and good luck charms. Carved from a single piece of wood, they are then decorated with beads, cowries, fibers, and metal ornaments. These dolls hold a special place among women, who keep them to promote fertility and to accompany them in their role as mothers.
